The title "女子かう生" [Joshi Kausei] is "女子高生" [Joshi Kousei] but with the character "高" [Kou] written in historical kana orthography as "かう" [Kau] (though still pronounced "Kou")[¹](https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q13127466338), hence the translation of "High School Girles". ("girle" is a historical form of "girl".)
